I'm Jim, and my company is CKC Computer Solutions. Over the years I've spent much of my time helping people with their computers, wherever I was working at the time. Now I do it for people like you all around South Florida. Training

I personally understand the frustration that happens when dealing with computers--the crashes, the error messages and the unexplained glitches that leave you fuming and cost you hours of hard work (and $$$ too!). I know how to make your computer work for you, without driving you crazy. Together we will assess your system, discuss what you want to accomplish and decide the best way to get there. I'll tuneup your system (if it needs it) to eliminate nagging problems. If necessary I'll upgrade your hardware, or add the software you need. Then we will sit down together and I'll teach you make your time on the computer productive and enjoyable for you. I have successfully worked with people from 2 to 82, and I can work with you!

I have been working with PCs since 1983 and Macintoshes since 1992. I know the ins and outs of Windows, from 3.1 to XP, and even DOS, as well as Macintosh systems. I have owned both PCs and Macintoshes, so I do my best to keep up with the hardware and software developments for both technologies.

Website Development

If you want to get online and have questions I know all about the Internet and the World Wide Web. I have worked as a programmer developing Web pages and Web-related software for one of the most successful online catalog sites on the Internet, abc Distributing, and before that I worked for the leading sports information site on the Web, CBS SportsLine, so I understand what makes the Web work. I also teach Information Technology classes, mostly related to the Web, at the University of Phoenix.

As far as Web technologies go, I'm familiar with some of the most common--HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Perl/CGI, ColdFusion, ASP, PHP, databases (SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL), web servers (IIS, I-Planet and Apache), and the major web browsers as well. My level of expertise varies from technology to technology, but I've done all of them at one point in time or another.

Pricing Information

My standard rate for work is $40.00 per hour for Broward county, $45.00 per hour for Dade and Palm Beach county (due to the increased travel costs and time). There is no minimum charge. If your problem is solved in 15 minutes you only pay for 15 minutes. Often I do not charge for time I spend researching your problem if I consider it "training time".

I also have package rates for customers in Broward county who are interested in a longer term training program or a continued support program. Customers in Dade or Palm Beach county add $5 per hour to the Broward rates.
